As a royal, it may appear that Prince Andrew's life has been unaffected by the numerous issues and scandals that have surrounded him.

They reportedly settled out of court for an undisclosed sum after being sued for sex abuse by Virginia Giuffre.

Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of York's mother, is said to have helped pay for portions of it.

Now it appears like Prince Andrew may revert to his Princely ways.

However, everything he has been through in the last few months may have taken a toll on him, as a source stated to The Mirror that he is "broken" and battling in the midst of public humiliation.

It is speculated that they paid around $14 million in the settlement.

According to a source who served with Prince Andrew during the Falkland War, the decision to keep him as Vice-Admiral is simply the Queen's attempt to cheer him up.

"He's down, he's broken," they told the publication. Allow him to dress up in a naval uniform every now and again."

"His reputation is in shambles, and his public career is done." He's a walking source of shame."

However, the insider expressed sympathy for his former friend and defended Prince Andrew, stating that he served in the Royal Navy and was given a post by the Queen.

"He hasn't been found guilty of anything."

"I don't know if he's guilty or innocent, therefore I think he's paid a high price," they continued.

Prince Andrew was supposed to be cross-examined under oath, but he was able to reach a "cowardly" multi-million-dollar bargain with his accuser.

Virginia Giuffre was said to be "very, very pleased" with the outcome in a statement following the settlement.

She will also receive personal compensation, and there is no NDA preventing her from telling her side of the tale.
