John Stahl Dead: 'Game of Thrones' Star Cause of Death a Mystery

John Stahl, "Game of Thrones" actor, has died at the age of 68, according to his agency.
Rickard Karstark was played by the Scottish actor in two seasons of the popular HBO fantasy series.
The role of Inverdarroch in the long-running soap opera "Take The High Road" was one of his iconic ones as well.
As his agent, Amanda Fitzalan Howard, put it, he was an "an actor of remarkable skill and a stalwart of Scottish theatre".
Also during his career, Stahl appeared in various theater plays, including appearances at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre.
He was also remembered by his fellow Scotsman, Peter May, who noted that the actor had recently attended his virtual wedding.
He wrote,"Terribly sad to hear that my old friend, John Stahl, has passed. I wrote so many scenes for the character of Inverdarroch that he portrayed in Take The High Road." He added, "Only recently attended his online wedding. Saw him last in Adelaide, Australia, for a fun reunion. RIP John."

The writer of the Inspector Rebus series, Ian Rankin, expressed his desire to collaborate with the actor again after seeing him in his play Long Shadows and praising his "terrifying and captivating" performance as the character, but now it's sadly too late.
By the standards of the Scottish theatre scene, David Greig characterized him as a "really brilliant actor" who would be much missed.
The Winter's Tale, Gagarin Way, and his own play, The Architect, were among the numerous Scottish productions in which he was a "valued company member," he said.
He once sat down for an interview to share his experiences of working on the "High Road" for so long and being part of the "Game of Thrones." He said the two are quite similar. "Part of the success of Game of Thrones is down to the fact the feeling within the company is so strong. Everyone believes in it. It was like High Road in that regard.
He revealed that people kept asking how he could lasted on the one show for so long. He said the people he worked with made for a huge factor.
"Part of the reason was that it was good fun being with the people who were in it. That was why High Road lasted. The similarity is everyone pulling together, making sure we're relaxed enough to have a good time and therefore give good performances.
