Amidst the outrage over his ultra-violent video in which he decapitates and buries Kim's new boyfriend Pete, Kanye appears to have finally defended himself. Whether or not his defense can be accepted remains to be seen.

His most recent Instagram post looks to be a follow-up to the controversial one he later removed. Kim Kardashian's new boyfriend Pete Davidson was killed and buried by the "Famous" rapper in the video for his track "Easy," which was released earlier this month.

On Sunday (March 6), Kanye defended the video by claiming that "art" is meant to "inspire," rather than suggest "harm."

Kanye's comment on a black-and-white photograph of a burning church said, "Art is protected as freedom of speech; art inspires and simplifies the world; Art is not a proxy for any ill or harm; Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal intended," he wrote. An emoticon with a black heart ended the post.

What prompted him to put this out as an alleged defense is a mystery. But it is clear that Kanye is always affected by things going around him and he reacts to almost everything. WIth so many fans and friends urging Pete Davidson to sue Kanye for going overboard with his hate campaign, the rapper might have felt that need to justify his work.

Pete probably would not agree in this case. By all means, he was not threatened or scared off by the video, and he found it quite hilarious even, but this does not mean it can be described as inspiring or healing.

"Pete saw Kanye's video and honestly, he thought it was hilarious," a source revealed to Hollywood Life. "Pete was pretty amused by the whole thing and he wasn't bothered by the graphic animation or anything else. He actually thinks it's kind of cool and in a weird way he's actually flattered that Kanye put that much attention into him. Pete thinks it's a dope video and has no problem with it whatsoever."

If Pete was amused, Kim is nowhere close being that positive. A source said the only thing that made Kim felt okay with the whole thing was seeing Pete Davidson unaffected by it.

"Kim didn't find this funny at all, but she was able to let it go when she saw that Pete was amused by it," another source shared to the outlet. "He told her that you can't take this stuff too seriously or Kanye is getting what he wants - a reaction. She isn't harping on this anymore and she is just letting it go."
