Queen Elizabeth II would like to see her great-granddaughter, Lilibet, in person, a royal author claimed.

The past weeks have been tough and rough for Queen Elizabeth II especially since she no longer has Prince Philip by her side. She has also been facing health issues which makes it harder for her to see her family in person.

Amid these issues, a royal author claimed that the monarch would desperately like to see Lilibet, whom she has not seen since she was born in June.

In a statement to Express UK, royal author Brian Hoey claimed that the 95-year-old monarch badly wants to see her 11th great-grandchild.

"I have heard from people I know within the Royal Household she really would desperately like to see the baby in this way. I think she would love to, I wonder whether it is going to happen, I would love to think it could," Hoey said.

Lilibet is Queen Elizabeth II's 11th great-grandchild, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex named her after the reigning monarch and the late Princess Diana.

Why Queen Elizabeth II's Meeting with Lilibet Could Ignite Positive News

In the same interview, Hoey explained how the meeting between Queen Elizabeth II and baby Lilibet could leave a powerful impact on the public.

According to the royal author, the ongoing royal rift would also subside since the potential reunion might definitely signal that the Sussexes' relationship with the royal family is on the mend.

"It may not be as bad as we on the outside think it is anyway. I am absolutely sure the Queen holds no feelings of disapproval towards Harry and Meghan, none whatsoever, she would certainly welcome them back if they came," he went on.

Hoey's comments came after Prince Harry himself expressed his desire to return to the UK so his children would know his home country. However, a statement revealed that the Sussexes could not jet back to the UK due to security concerns.

For what it's worth, the Duke of Sussex - through his legal representatives - revealed that the Home Office did not allow him to have police protection in the UK despite assuring he would pay it himself. A judge is yet to rule the case following the preliminary hearings.
