Rachel Zegler's Twitter is pure gold.

The actress, fresh off her breakout role as Maria in Steven Speilberg's West Side Story, is now working on the live-action Disney Snow White, starring as none other than the OG Disney Princess herself.

Zegler is taking this second high-profile role very seriously, it seems, as the actress tweeted yesterday that she will be avoiding all apples in order to truly put herself in Snow's mindset.

The actress tweeted that she [rightfully] threw a tantrum on set when she saw a bag of red apple crisps - what were they thinking, this girl is scarred!

It didn't let up after that - to her horror, the once-poisoned princess found a full bowl of the offending fruit at the buffet table. Unconscionable. Those could have killed her.

We'd better not see Gal Gadot with any of those apples in hand. And if she gets anywhere NEAR Rachel with one, we're sure we'll hear about it on her Twitter. Stay strong, girlfriend.

We're all looking forward to seeing how this live-action Snow White turns out, especially after Disney announced - in the wake of complaints from actor Peter Dinklage - that they were "taking a different approach" to the original story that they believe will be less offensive to people with dwarfism.

Speculations as to what this could mean have varied wildly - but we do know that a few months before, Disney announced that they had cast Broadway actor Andrew Burnap as an entirely new character, one we didn't see in the original movie.

We'll find out, but probably not until next year: Disney's live action Snow White is currently slated for a 2023 release.
