Kathy Lamkin, an actress, popularly known for playing the role of a Desert Aire manager in "No Country For Old Men" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," has passed away at the age of 74.

According to Deadline, the actress died after a short illness.

Her family confirmed the tragic news and issued a statement to the outlet, writing, "Kathy will be missed by her family and friends, and left an impact on all she that encountered during her life on this Earth."

Born on December 10, 1947, Lamkin spent her early days in Graham, Texas. Her hard work as a worker in the film industry led her to win a SAG Award for her performance in the Coen Brothers' critically-acclaimed 2007 movie.

The actress appeared in 46 film and TV projects for more than two decades.

Aside from her role as a manager, she's also popularly known for playing the character of The Tea Lady in Marcus Nispel's "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake and Jonathan Liebesman's "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning."

Per IMBd, some of her film and television credits include "Physicic Experiment," "ExTerminators," "Expecting Mary," "My Name Is Earl," "Sweetwater," "Will to Power," Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," "Another Man's Treasure," "Malcolm in the Middle," "The Aura," and more.

Lamkin used her acting abilities throughout her career to teach other people as she taught theatre arts at Codwell Elementary School in Houston, Texas, later creating and running such venues as the Unicorn School of Acting and USA Theater.

To explore more opportunities, the actress commuted between Houston and Los Angeles in 2002.

After the tragic news circulated online, many fans and friends took to social media to pay tribute to the actress.

"Sad to hear that Kathy Lamkin, who played "Tea Lady" in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake as well as The Beginning, has passed away at 74. The side characters add so much local texture to those movies. Incredibly memorable character, even with such a small role," Bloody Disgusting editor-in-chief John Squires wrote.

Lamkin is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Jerry, Jeannie Guinn, Donald, and Jeanette Oreschnigg.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Stephen L. Lamkin, her daughter Kati, her son Greg and his wife Jamie, and her grandchildren Benjamin and Morgan.

The family is currently planning a memorial service to celebrate her life. Although details behind the tribute are still unclear, the family asks donations be made to The Actors Fund instead of flowers.
