Despite breaking up a few months ago, it appears that there's not an ounce of awkwardness between Emma Roberts and her ex Garrett Hedlund as the latter made a big move for the "Scream Queens" actress over the weekend; are they back together?

According to OK! Magazine, the actor took to his official Instagram account to post a photo of a handwritten letter dedicated to the 31-year-old actress.

"Happy Mother's Day! To the most beautiful mother, dear Emma. You gave us a gift who never ceases to melt our hearts, amaze our minds, and make all the anythings just fly away, from morning till night. All my love," he wrote.

The star also posted a snap of him and his mother on Instagram stories, writing, "so grateful for you. Every, single day."

The tribute comes a few months after the "Friday Night Lights" actor and Roberts reportedly called it quits after being together for three years.

The ex-couple shares a son named Rhodes.

Multiple insiders confirmed to People Magazine that the pair have been doing their best to co-parent their child.

"It's sad, and they are trying their best to co-parent. It's been hard," an unnamed source revealed.

They were able to celebrate baby Rhodes' birthday in December before they split. The "Truth or Dare" lead actress shared a greeting online and a few photos from the party.

As seen in the series of photos, the baby's birthday revolved around the cowboy theme.

A day after their split, Hedlund was arrested in Franklin County in Tennessee on January 22.

In early reports, the actor was arrested for public intoxication. His bond was set at $2,100 for his misdemeanor arrest.

This was not the first time the "Troy" star had problems with the law, as he faced a personal perjury lawsuit filed by two women after a car crash in Los Angeles, California, two years ago.

According to court documents obtained by E! News, Hedlund allegedly passed out while driving his car; his vehicle ran a "solid red light at a high rate of speed."

The two women said they knew the actor was drinking to the extent of "severe intoxication" before driving his Jeep.

He also tried leaving the scene after the incident without consulting the plaintiffs. However, he failed to flee the area because he was so "intoxicated."
