Ellen DeGeneres' television reign is finally coming to an end after two decades on the air.

The final episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will air on Thursday, May 26.

The 19th season's episodes wrapped filming last month, and since then, fans have been wondering what the "Finding Dory" voice actress has been up to.

DeGeneres is apparently taking a much-needed vacation from the program after decades of hard labor.

According to The Sun, she is planning a lavish holiday in Africa with her wife, Portia de Rossi.

"Right after the show finale airs, Ellen, Portia, and her closest friends, including her brother, Vance DeGeneres, and his wife, are traveling to Rwanda for the launch of her gorilla campus," a source informed the site.

When Ellen DeGeneres is present, it won't be all fun and games.

The 64-year-old television celebrity is launching a "Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund," as previously reported. It will open in February 2022.

Since founding The Ellen Fund, DeGeneres has been an outspoken advocate for gorilla conservation.

Its objective will be to ensure the survival of wild mountain gorillas.

The informant went on to explain that she is also covering all of the costs for her next opulent trip, leaving little to no space for stinginess because she is going all out.

After a tremendous run of around 20 years for her program, the insider revealed that DeGeneres still has no concrete future career plans - but she is far from done.

"She's going to take some well-deserved time off and simply pause."

Furthermore, once her show concludes, DeGeneres will have plenty of time for her actress wife, who sat down with her earlier this month and discussed her bond with her 99-year-old grandmother.

Ellen DeGeneres' talk show had a hard year following multiple allegations that it was a terrible workplace environment to work for.

Allegations surfaced at the height of the epidemic, but DeGeneres addressed the subject on the beginning of her 18th season last October.

Ratings fell, albeit not dramatically; nonetheless, she alsosaid that the decline in ratings or her scandal were not the primary reasons for her decision to end the show.
