Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has been one of the biggest names in wrestling history, working his undeniable charisma into successful acting and entrepreneurial ventures - such as his signature tequila brand Teremana.

But the People's Champion is passing the torch to his 20-year-old daughter, Simone Johnson, who has decided to become a wrestler - and over the weekend she announced her in-ring moniker: Ava Raine.

Leave it to the more hardcore wrestling fans to make a big deal out of Simone's choice of personas.

The name choice was met with some dislike, as she didn't decide to make it something similar to her famous dad's name somehow - many, many people, for instance, suggested "the pebble."

This is to be expected given that we live in a social media world where everyone has the right to voice an opinion, though the beauty is we can choose to listen to these individuals or not. Thankfully, Ava Raine has decided to stick to her guns, and do the latter.

Ava Raine will be the fourth generation in her family to go into professional wrestling. Besides her famous father, her grandfather Rocky "Soulman" Johnson, and her great-grandfather "High Chief" Peter Maivia also made names for themselves in the wrestling world - we're betting she'll do just fine.

Having signed her contract with the WWE back in 2020, Ava Raine has yet to make her official debut in the ring - but we are looking forward to the day that she does.
