Get ready for all the feels: It has been announced that the lovable British bear Paddington is coming back in his third big-screen adventure - though franchise helmer Paul King will not be seated in the director's chair this time around.

The Hollywood Reporter recently discussed the changing of the guard in an exclusive about the project. It was announced by StudioCanal and HeyDay Films that first-time director Dougal Wilson will be stepping in for King for Paddington in Peru.

Wilson made his mark as a music video and commercial director leading to him being hired to take over for King, who is presently filming Wonka with Timothee Chalamet

Wilson had this to say about his role in the popular children's series:

"As a huge fan of the first two films, I am very excited (if not a little intimidated) to be continuing the story of Paddington. It's a massive responsibility, but all my efforts will be focussed on making a third film that honours the love so many people have for this very special bear."

Likewise, King seems more than happy with his replacement in this sweetly worded sentiment,

"After ten years of working on the Paddington movies, I feel absurdly protective of the little bear, and I'm delighted that Dougal will be there to hold his paw as he embarks on his third big-screen adventure. Dougal's work is never less than astounding: funny, beautiful, heartfelt, imaginative, and totally original.

"Aunt Lucy once asked us to 'Please Look After This Bear.' I know Dougal will do so admirably."

Paddington in Peru will take the titular bear back to his homeland, where the first film began - though little else is known of the actual plot.

Wildly successful at the box office and with critics, the Paddington movies are a children's film series done right. With its sweetly goofy protagonist and excellent supporting cast (Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins), playing along with all of Paddington's innocent antics with loving care, Paddington shows the kind of affection for the property few kid's films ever do. Here's hoping Paddington 3 will keep with that cherished tradition.

There is no release date for Paddington in Peru at this time.
