A Riverdale actor has reportedly murdered his own mother in cold blood - which is not the most frightening part of this story.

Allegedly, he saw this as his last resource to prevent his mom from witnessing his plot to assassinate Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada.

His character was written into the show as the hit-and-run killer of Luke Perry's character after Perry's stroke-related death.

Prosecutors in British Columbia stated at a Monday sentence hearing that Ryan Grantham, 24, fatally shot his mother, Barbara Waite, 64, in order to prevent her from witnessing his assassination plot against the Canadian prime minister.

CBC stated that, after shooting his mother, Waite, in the back of the head as she played the piano on March 31, 2020, Grantham covered her body with a sheet and placed rosaries and candles on it.

Prosecutors asserted that after he shot his mother, he loaded three firearms, ammo, and 12 Molotov cocktails into his vehicle before driving to Rideau Cottage in Ottawa.

Plot To Assasinate Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Grantham had intended to travel more than 50 hours to assassinate Trudeau, but reportedly he changed his mind and considered executing "an act of mass murder" at Simon Fraser University, where he had previously dropped out.

Before injuring anyone else, however, he surrendered to Vancouver police and pled guilty to second-degree murder in March.

Grantham's sentencing hearings completed on Wednesday, although a judge has not yet imposed a prison sentence. The prosecution has requested that he serve at least 17 to 18 years before parole consideration.

Graham Recorded His Mother's Murder With A GoPro

During the sentence hearing, prosecutor Michaela Donnelly stated, "Mr. Grantham was attempting to protect his mother from something he planned to do," though he condemned the murder as a "heartbreaking betrayal of trust."

She stated:

"Barbara Waite loved her son very much, was a good mom, and had no need to fear him."

Donnelly stated that Grantham had numerous opportunities to change his mind, but finally decided to carry out his plot to murder his mother. According to reports, he repeatedly unloaded and reloaded his firearm before carrying out the attack.

CBC reports that Grantham had secretly recorded himself approaching his mother with a gun from behind using a GoPro camera prior to the March 2020 murder.

According to two psychological tests provided by the prosecution, Grantham committed the crime to prevent her mother from witnessing future acts of violence he intended to do.

Based on the examinations, Grantham had been diagnosed with cannabis use disorder, melancholy, self-hatred, suicidal, and homicidal inclinations several months before to the murder.
