The newest move by Prince William and Kate Middleton has earned them some plaudits.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are relocating their five-person family to Adelaide Cottage, which was renovated in 2015.

According to royal expert Cameron Walker, their choice of new property is "pretty sensible" because it is already located on Windsor grounds and might benefit them because their new home is already guarded with royal protection, saving them money.

However, because Adelaide Cottage has already been renovated, the pair will not be obliged to use public funds to renovate certain residences, as was the case with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's prior decision to spend about $3.2 million on refurbishments to Frogmore Cottage.

"And I think they've been rather savvy in this approach if it's true because no costly refurb is necessary, i.e., none of our money," the expert told Express.

"Unlike the $3.2 million that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent on fixing up Frogmore Cottage in 2018, $3.2 million of taxpayer's money might I add," he said.

What Happens to Apartment 1A?

What will happen to Prince William and Kate Middleton's Kensington Palace Apartment 1Anow that they have moved?

The flat isnot even a conventional apartment; it is a four-story palace complete with an elevator, a gym, and around nine staff quarters.

Apart from their rural residence in Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, which they will preserve, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spend the most of their time there.

However, Walker claims that their flat would be converted into "staff offices, and their aides will commute to Windsor."

Walker also speculated that the couple is relocating now because Prince Louis will begin school in September, while their elder children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will go to Berkshire, leaving St. Tomas School in Battersea.

What Is The Reason Behind The Cambridges' Relocation?

Other royal analysts believe that Prince William and Kate Middleton are relocating to be closer to Queen Elizabeth II, since the Duke is increasing his responsibilities in preparation for becoming King.

In recent months, Prince William and his father, Prince Charles, have begun to take on additional duties, with the latter opening Parliament.

Others believe the Queen is relocating to be closer to her grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
