Whoopi Goldberg has been accused of controlling her "The View" co-hosts following the recent issue on the program.

On Monday, "The View" faced another outrage after Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin sparred with the show's guest, Alyssa Farah Griffin. The trio got into a heated argument, causing Goldberg to say that the show would take a break.

"The View" was then cut to a commercial afterward.

Following the event, a body language and nonverbal communication expert Patti Wood said that Goldberg has secret tactics to control her co-hosts, and she reportedly showed it during the recent episode of the program.

Wood told The Sun that Goldberg kept her arm closest to the host sitting directly to her left. Her palm was down on the table as she reached out.

For the expert, it was the host's way to have everyone let her finish. She noted that she regained her control to peacefully stop the situation.

"Whoopi again raises her arm and hand and brings it down to take control and be center stage. But uses a happy teasing voice so the host next to her and the audience laugh. And a serious topic and any possible argument that could have occurred among the hosts was then diffused," she explained.

Although she used the tactics to calm everyone down, Goldberg actually has a history of controlling her co-hosts.

Whoopi Goldberg Shows Her Power to Co-Hosts?

In 2019, former "The View" co-host Jenny McCartney revealed that she had a miserable experience while working with co-hosts Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg for one season in 2013.

In Ramin Setoodeh's "Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of 'The View'" (via Vulture), she said that Goldberg always fought to secure her position as the show's moderator due to her "addiction to controlling people's thoughts, their words, the room ... all of it and everybody."

"People don't understand. Whoopi can knock over anyone in a debate. Her voice is strong not only in meaning but also in sound. I was able to get a point out in three words - like 'I don't agree' - and that's all I would be able to say. I would be stepped on or interrupted," she went on, as quoted by Decider.

McCarthy eventually quit the show at the end of Season 17. Walters, who she accused of being verbally abusive, also left with her last episode aired in May 2014.
