Alana Thompson, popularly known as Honey Boo Boo, has faced many criticisms over the past few months after revealing to the world that she has a boyfriend who's five years older than him. Today, the reality star is speaking out to clarify the issue.

Along with her sister Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, the reality star spoke to ET where she gave fans an insight into her relationship with Dralin.

The "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star said the backlash she received was not only about her age gap from her boyfriend, but also Dralin's ethnicity as well.

For context, the TV star is currently 16 years old while her partner is 21.

"In our relationship, the two most things that everybody is always talking about is our age gap and definitely because he's Black and I'm white and we're an interracial couple," the former pageant girl said.

Thompson doesn't care about what other people think of their relationship as there are only two people whose opinions matter to her, Pumpkin and her boyfriend's mother.

"I don't care because, like, at the end of the day, my sister approves, his mom approves, and we're happy, so what fans got to say or what haters got to say I don't really care," she added.

On the other hand, her sister also spoke out about the issue, saying she's happy for Thompson and she believes that the TV star is old and emotionally mature enough to date her 21-year-old boyfriend.

She later defended the reality star, saying she's not getting married nor having kids and she's doing very good with her studies.

Gushing about her boyfriend, the "Mama June: Road to Redemption" star revealed they never run out of conversations whenever they spend time with each other.

"I like how it's never quiet when we're around each other, we're always talking about something — it's never like an awkward moment, silence or none of that. We're always just talking about something," she said.

She also noted how supportive her boyfriend is, especially when she competed in "The Masked Singer" as he drove across the country just to be with her during filming.

The recent interview comes a month after Pumpkin clarified the engagement rumors regarding her sister swirling around online.

Many fans speculated that Thompson and Dralin got engaged after the former sported a ring.

Pumpkin clarified that it was only a promise ring she had received the year prior.
