First-time mom Gina Rodriguez shared that she and her husband are preparing themselves to become parents after announcing that Rodriguez is pregnant on her 38th birthday.

Rodriguez and her husband Joe LoCicero tied the knot in May 2019 in an intimate ceremony three years after they met on a set of "Jane the Virgin."

And another three years later, the couple announced that they are expecting a baby which they announced on Rodriguez's Instagram account.

"This birthday hits different," captioned as she emotionally shared a new milestone with husband LoCicero.

In a clip which was voiced over said that "anyone can want you. But love hits different when someone actually values you."

Friends and fans sent their congratulatory message for Rodriguez's pregnancy announcement and wished them best of luck.

In the last frame of the video, the couple is sharing a proof of life as Rodriguez displays the positive pregnancy test and smiles in front of the camera.

Now, the couple is giving their update on the pregnancy journey which is new to the both of them. 

In an interview with ET News, Rodriguez said that they "are fully educating themselves on the realities of childbirth as they prepare to welcome their first baby."

Wife of LoCicero also shared that they've been watching videos of live births in preparation and she is also attending prenatal classes that will help her in delivery.

"He's a martial artist and so it's basically, you know, he's cornering the fight of my life. I wouldn't call it a fight -- I would say, it's like ... me climbing my Mount Everest and he's gonna corner me for it." 

Rodriguez also cracks a joke when she said that she hopes that her husband will just "go on in there and pull our baby out," seems to be referring to the hospital.

Prior to being a real mom, Rodriguez has been acting like a mom in the show she was with as if the shows are preparing her for the things that she may face as real world "mama."

Meanwhile, Rodriguez shares that she is thrilled to be part of a project that talks about mental health saying that though it was emotional yet it was therapeutic.
