The suspect of the Paris Hotel theft that robbed Kim Kardashian of her jewelry suggests that the reality star may have had a hand in preparing for her own heist.

While in France for the Paris Fashion Week in 2016, Kim Kardashian became the victim of a hotel robbery at Hôtel de Pourtalès. Inside her hotel room, she was ambushed by a group of masked men who managed to steal 10 million dollars worth of jewelry, which included the Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring that Kanye West gave her. The incident reportedly left "The Kardashians" star traumatized.

According to a video interview by Vice News, suspect Yunis Abbas claimed that the beauty mogul played a part in her own robbery, as Kim is known to show off her jewelry and luxurious lifestyle constantly on social media.

"Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that. Guilty? No, I don't care. They should be a little less showy towards people who can't afford it. For some people, it's provocative." Abbas said in the Vice News interview.

The suspect claims that the Kardashian flaunting her wealth on social media tempted him and other fellow robbers to plan the heist ahead of her Paris trip. The suspects were able to sneak into Kim's hotel room, tied her up in the bathtub, then stole her personal belongings.

According to Page Six, Abbas faced a 22-month jail time following the incident before he was released due to health issues related to his heart. He even wrote a memoir titled, "I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian", which the French court ruled he would not be able to profit from it.

The mother of four talked about her traumatic experience in an episode of "Keeping up with the Kardashians". During the pandemic, Kim admits to developing Agoraphobia. Following the incident, Kim fired her former security guard, Pascal Duvier,

She then went ahead and sued Protect Security, the security company Duvier was employed in. The reality star was able to settle a 6.1 million dollar lawsuit for negligence.
