"Killing Eve" star Jodie Comer reportedly hires a top celebrity bodyguard amidst a string of "nasty" incidents while on set.

Jodie Comer is set to star in the environmental thriller "The End We Start From" based on Megan Hunter's debut novel. Comer will also produce the film alongside Benedict Cumberbatch. The project reportedly started filming in August 2022 and is directed by Mahalia Belo, known for films like Ellen (2016) and the television series "The Long Song" (2018).

In a recent report from Mirror, Comer had been given a "top celebrity bodyguard" who has previously worked with co-star Benedict Cumberbatch. According to Mirror's source, the film producers heightened Comer's security due to a string of "nasty" experiences.

"A bodyguard who has previously looked after Benedict was drafted in and other measures have been implemented. Jodie's safety is paramount. She has had some nasty experiences lately."

The String of 'Nasty' Incidents

In 2021, the "Killing Eve" actress received an alarming death threat from an "obsessed" fan, saying: "I am coming to England to create carnage". The online harassment reportedly started on social media and, later on, was also being sent to Jodie's family members. According to reports, the threats were traced to Roubaix, a city in France, and police raided the man's home and held him in custody.

Following the death threats, the 29 year old actress had been at the center of a stalking incident in May 2022. According to reports, a man who appeared to be in his 40s was spotted carrying a bouquet of flowers for Jodie outside the Harold Pinter Theatre. Sources say that the man was spotted on at least two separate occasions, behaving "oddly", to which security took action by stopping fans from engaging with the actress to prioritize safety.

Producers To Prioritize Safety

Now, during her time on the set of "The End We Start From", a source tells Metro that the team is making sure that Comer's safety will be prioritized.

"The film's producers want to ensure that everyone is as safe as possible and, with Jodie's unpleasant experiences, they didn't want to take any risks, no matter how small." According to the source.

Jodie Comer is set to star in "The End We Start From" alongside Katherine Waterston, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Mark Strong. According to reports, production company SunnyMarch will join Hera Pictures in producing.
