People on Twitter reported that the Duchess of Sussex's demure black dress had a little rectangular blemish on the waist region.
Critics immediately assumed she was wearing a microphone because she and her husband wanted fodder for their $100 million Netflix deal.
Their multi-million-dollar agreement was brought into doubt earlier this year after no material was generated two years after they agreed with the streaming behemoth.
In the agreement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed two projects: a children's cartoon dubbed "Pearl," and a documentary titled "Heart of Invictus," the latter of which has apparently been abandoned owing to Netflix's cost-cutting.
However, royal expert Daniela Elser stated in the NZ Herald that their effort, which is still in its early stages, is failing to have a significant influence.
"These could both out to be moving and impactful episodes, but on paper they don't exactly sound like they will set audiences or Hollywood on fire," she wrote for the publication earlier this year.
Many people on Twitter wondered what Meghan was "hiding" beneath her dress, with some spotting a "mic pack" at the shape of her waist.

An insider close to the former "Suits" star disputed the "insane" and "damaging" claims that she wore a microphone on a walkabout in Windsor with her in-laws and hubby.
"Of course," they told Page Six, "Meghan Markle wasn't wearing a microphone."
On Twitter, royal supporters defended the Duchess of Sussex, with one user stating it was only a "wrinkle in her dress" and labeling all of her criticisms "pathetic."
Another individual speculated that the California native was wearing a belt on the inside and the rectangular form they noticed was simply a buckle.
"I frequently wear my belt inside out with the buckle off-center, as I'm sure many others do."

According to a People magazine insider, the Duke of Cambridge has invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and his wife.
The future king believes the walkabout was "an important show of unity at an incredibly difficult time for the family."
