"The Crown" started filming the fatal car crash that claimed Princess Diana's life.

The royal family and Princess Diana's friends have been worried about the portrayal of the late Princess of Wales' death in the upcoming season of "The Crown." However, Netflix said in a statement to The Sun that it would not show the exact moment of the crash.

After sharing the news, several news outlets shared photos of the filming where the show was seen seemingly recording the events leading to the royal's tragic passing.

According to E! Online, the scene was recorded on Thursday, showing the production team en route where the accident happened. Photographers on motorcycles also surrounded the Mercedes-Benz, like the one Princess Diana rode on, recreating the scene when paparazzi chased her decades ago.

Although the scenes will depict Princess Diana's last moments, Netflix already clarified it would not film the accident but include the royal's last days instead.

A set source also said, "The show always tried to present a fictional version of royal history with as much sensitivity as possible. But lately, as things get closer to the present day, it feels harder to strike that balance. With some of those moments still so fresh and upsetting, it feels as though a line is being crossed."

More photos of the filming can be found here.

Princess Diana ultimately died on Aug. 31, 1997, after a car accident happened in Paris' Alma Tunnel. She was still able to be rushed to a Paris hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries hours after the crash.

Meanwhile, Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul were declared dead at the scene.

Princess Diana's Friends, Critics Call Out "The Crown"

Although the series is yet to release the season that will show Princess Diana's death, it has already garnered audience condemnation from critics and Princess Diana's loved ones, who called the move "sick."

As quoted by Cosmopolitan, Princess Diana's friend Simone Simmons called "The Crown" team "cruel, sadistic, and wicked people" since the show could bring Prince William and Prince Harry back to the most painful time of their lives.

Simmons also said that the horrible day should never be created in the first place.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Princess Diana's character, assured the viewers that "The Crown" team is working on everything with sensitivity and that the show would only include scenes that are not sensitive.
