Kate Middleton showed up on Remembrance Day with a special item that reminded the public of Queen Elizabeth, and the move was believed to be her tribute to the late monarch, according to a new report.

The Princess of Wales, 41, stepped out at the National Service of Remembrance procession at The Cenotaph on Sunday. She also joined Queen Camilla on the balcony in London, with both wearing black coats, hats and poppy lapel pins.

Middleton's pair of earrings that featured clusters of diamonds around it caught the public's eye. The future queen appeared to have repurposed Queen Elizabeth's Diamond and Pearl Leaf brooch, according to Hello! magazine. The brooch has three large pearls surrounded by diamond leaves. It was reportedly never seen before in public and the late monarch last donned the accessory in 1999 during her 73rd birthday when she attended a concert in South Korea.

Several netizens on X, formerly Twitter, also noticed Middleton's eye-catching earrings and shared the same theory. One X user shared a snap of Middleton and a rundown of her ensemble.

Middleton reportedly recycled her Bespoke Catherine Walker black coat and paired it with a Philip Treacy hat. Her brooch was The Badge of The Fleet Air Arm, which is Commodore in Chief, and her earrings matched Queen Elizabeth's Pearl & Diamond and Leaf brooch.

One wrote, "I think that The Princess of Wales is wearing earrings from a same demi-Parure to Queen Elizabeth's Diamond & Pearl Leaf brooch." A different user suggested, "Perhaps the brooch is detachable and the earrings are leaves from the brooch." Another royal fan said they loved the brooch and the Princess of Wales paired it well with her ensemble, praising her for being a "fashion icon."

Per Us Weekly, the Duchess of Cornwall has worn the brooch several times in the past. Middleton first wore the item during an official visit to Belgium when she attended the Commonwealth War Graves Commission's Tyne Cot Cemetery.

Prince William's wife wore the same accessory again at the 2018 Festival of Remembrance. She affixed poppy pins over the pearls during the event. She once again wore the item at Queen Elizabeth's lying-in-state ceremony at Westminster Hall in September 2022.

Last year, Middleton wore Princess Diana's pearl earrings to the same event as a tribute to her late mother-in-law. Middleton has worn the same item at the 2019 BAFTAs in London and 2022 Royal Ascot. The late Princess of Wales had been seen wearing the jewelry item a lot in the 90s, Cosmopolitan reported.
