Kate Middleton showed no signs of willingness to reconcile with Meghan Markle in their last joint appearance, according to a body language expert.

There was reportedly a falling out between the Waleses and the Sussexes when Prince Harry and Markle left the royal family and moved to California in 2020. The foursome was last seen together in a joint walkabout after Queen Elizabeth's passing in September 2022.

Judi James, a leading communication and body language expert who has appeared regularly on BBC News, Sky News, GB News, and CNN, recounted the incident and weighed in on their body language.

The expert claimed that the Princess of Wales showed a "storming gesture," suggesting she was in no mood to make up with her sister-in-law, who made several allegations against the royal family, including her.

"As the car drove up, it was clear the two couples had shared the ride. The right-hand doors opened, and Harry got out, followed by William. Despite their differences, the brothers kept close together and even stood together to make their greetings," James told Mirror.

"Kate got out the other side with Meghan behind her. Kate's first gesture of intent came as she stormed around the car to join the brothers without as much as a backward glance at Meghan. She was clearly going to make no attempt to play at small talk or unity."

James noted that the former actress followed at a distance and appeared unsure whether she should join the royal trio -- Prince Harry, Prince William and Middleton. The Prince of Wales reportedly noticed Markle and extended an arm, inviting her to join them. She hung back in the group, and Prince Harry squeezed round his brother to get to her, who was reportedly "standing nervously tossing her hair."

Jennie Bond, former royal correspondent for the BBC, claimed that the future queen was hurt and insulted by Prince Harry and Markle's attacks. She even believed it was unlikely that their feud would be fixed any time soon.

"Kate got out the other side with Meghan behind her. Kate's first gesture of intent came as she stormed around the car to join the brothers without as much as a backward glance at Meghan. She was clearly going to make no attempt to play at small talk or unity," Bond told OK! magazine.

Body language analyst Dr. Lillian Glass, American interpersonal communication, media commentator, litigation consultant, and author of self-help books, also previously shared her opinion about the encounter. According to Glass, Prince William was "a bit more cordial" but his wife, Middleton, was having none of it.

"Kate even refused to even look at Meghan or in her direction," Glass told Page Six. "She was being genuine. It was not in her heart to smile at Meghan, so she didn't do it."

The analyst added, "Meghan, on the other hand, looked like a sad and desperate puppy as she tried to catch Kate's eye gaze repeatedly. But Kate was having none of it."
