English TV presenter Dave Myers, best known as one-half of the "Hairy Bikers," has died, leaving his co-stars and industry friends grieving. He was 66.

His co-star and close friend Si King announced the news of his passing via a statement on the official X account of "Hairy Bikers."

"Hi everyone. I'm afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years. Last night, on 28th of February 2024, with Lili, Dave's wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home," he wrote.

Myers is survived by his beloved wife, Lili, and her children, Iza and Sergiu, whom "Dave loved like his own."

In the tribute he wrote for his best friend, King said, "Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow."

He added, "I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime..."

Other industry people also paid tribute to Myers online by sharing heartwarming posts and kind words about him.

"I worked with the 'Hairy Bikers' on a BBC Christmas special, they were so welcoming and a joy to film with. At only 66, Dave Myers has left us. He was gentle and kind: I followed his 'Strictly' appearances as a friend. Sending love to Si, who must be devastated, and those close to him," UK astrologer Russell Grant tweeted.

Norwich graffiti artist Ruddy Muddy also paid the TV presenter a tribute with an artwork, which he shared on X.

"RIP Dave Myers. Such sad news... To one of the wonderful @HairyBikers from one of the Hairy Artists," he wrote.

According to him, he did the artwork as soon as he heard the news, saying, "Was quite a quick one as [it's] raining and cold but I had to do it."

Orion Books, the publisher of "The Hairy Bikers: Blood, Sweat and Tyres," also remembered Myers in a statement.

"... We are immensely proud to have published the 'Hairy Bikers' for over 14 years and will truly miss Dave's infectious energy and passion for food and travel," the publishing company wrote.

"There was never a dull moment working with Dave, and all who were lucky enough to do so will attest to what a brilliantly inspiring and kind and hardworking man he was."

Welsh broadcaster Carol Vorderman honored the "Hairy Bikers" star by requoting Si's announcement.

"I only met Dave once, [and] he was so full of love for the world. Rest in peace, kind man," she captioned her tweet.

BBC presenters Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones paid tribute to Myers when they announced his death on "This Morning Live" Thursday.

Trying to fight back tears, Jones said, "We have met Dave so many times, and he was just such a lovely smiley person."

Marsh added, "He was such a gorgeous human being."

Earlier in February, Myers and King were back on TV with their new series "The Hairy Bikers Go West."

In a clip from the series, Dave reflected on his cancer diagnosis and said, "One thing I'd say is you have to live for today. Don't live for tomorrow because you don't know what's around the corner," per Mirror.
