Travis Kelce is reportedly in talks to host the reboot of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"

Variety reported that the NFL star is in discussions to host a celebrity-focused version of the quiz game show, which originally aired on Fox in 2007.

Compared to the original program hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, where contestants relied on fifth-grader guests, the reboot for Amazon Prime Video will reportedly have celebrities as guests.

If the Kansas City Chiefs tight end signs the deal, he will be the next athlete to host a game show after Michael Strahan on ABC's "The $100,000 Pyramid" and Peyton Manning on NBC and Peacock's "College Bowl."

Producers allegedly want to leverage Kelce's relationship with his singer girlfriend Taylor Swift and attract new fans to the series, per Variety.

Kelce has yet to respond to the report about the reboot casting him as host.

Meanwhile, netizens shared mixed reactions to the possibility of Kelce hosting the show's revival for Amazon's streaming service.

"Well, that's a weird change of career direction," one X user commented.

"Is he playing the role of one of the 5th graders?" a second user remarked sarcastically.

"I think the host is supposed to be smarter than the fifth graders," someone else said.

"[This is] his most difficult challenge yet," another stated.

"The first nepo boyfriend," a different netizen alleged.

"If anything, dude should be a contestant," wrote another commenter.

Amid the negative and sarcastic comments, several voiced positive reactions to the possibility of Kelce hosting the show.

"Travis Kelce hosting a game show. The man continues to [prepare] for life after the NFL. Good for him!" one netizen opined.

"The ratings [are] gonna rise," claimed a different netizen.

"I see he's getting ready to engage with Swifties on a more frequent basis," wrote another X user.

"Bro is the opposite of jobless. I can see the reboot being entertaining if he's the host," a different person commented.

"Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" was co-created by Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick and John Stevens. The game show ran for three seasons with Foxworthy as host on Fox starting in 2007 before syndication. It returned for a fourth season on the same network in 2015, per Variety.

In 2019, the show was revived on Nickelodeon with its new host, John Cena. The professional wrestler and actor only hosted the show from June to November that year.
