Filipino rapper Range999 faces charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed gun after fatally shooting an American tourist in the city of Cebu, Philippines.

The rapper, real name Jed Andrew Salera, admitted to shooting Michael George Richey, 37, on Sunday at a club in Cebu City. The American national sustained fatal wounds to the feet and the chest.

Richey was rushed to a nearby local hospital before reportedly being moved to a private medical facility, where he eventually died two days later on Tuesday, GMA News reported.

The outlet said that the bullet was stuck in the victim's body and may have hit a vital organ, which led to his death.

"That foreigner sir, he disrespected our friends. He disrespected the females," Range999 told a local radio station in his local dialect.

According to the suspect, Richey allegedly groped his female friends at the bar. The rapper said he warned the victim to stop disrespecting his friends, but Richey allegedly ignored him.

The incident led to a confrontation outside the club.

CCTV footage showed a car driven by the rapper arriving and shots being fired at Richey shortly after, the Manila Bulletin reported.

"That's what I want to let everyone know because it wouldn't have happened if he hadn't been indecent," Range999 explained in the radio interview.

The rapper fled through the car but was reportedly arrested after a hot pursuit. A .45 caliber pistol was recovered from the suspect during the arrest.

Despite his father saying that he has apologized for the incident, Range999 said he won't back down from the situation and the legal wraps he will be facing.

"I already endured all challenges. I did everything for my family, for my music career. You just don't know what I have gone through," he said, as quoted by the Bulletin.

Range999 is currently detained at the Mabolo Police Station in Cebu.

Salera is a Filipino rapper-singer with over 1 million followers on Facebook and 340,000 subscribers on YouTube.
