Americans do not perceive Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as royals, according to one musician.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped away from their royal duties in 2020 to be financially independent. Four years later, the perception of the public has allegedly changed, as Americans no longer perceive them as royalties, especially Prince Harry.

"They gave up their royal titles right, so he's just a dude living in America like 340 million other people," 55-year-old musician Huey Morgan told Express.co.uk.

"I don't think people in America really look at them as royalty, I think they look at Charles, William and his wife [Kate Middleton] as royalty, and he [Harry] is like the dude that skipped, you know."

Morgan also claimed that the public disapproved of the Sussexes allegedly rolling their eyes at them. He added that the concept of "royalty" in the United States was different and a "novelty."

"He's not a royal, but they're in that whole Hollywood clique, where people kind of look at them and roll their eyes. I mean everyone does to the Hollywood people, but the whole idea of royalty in America is a novelty," Quinn added.

Quinn also previously claimed that Prince Harry was pressured to keep his ties with his family amid his and Markle's new ventures and despite their shaky relationship with the members of the British monarch. The former "Suits" star just launched her new lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, which many dubbed as the Tig 2.0.

"Harry is under pressure to keep some sort of relationship with his family going if only for the sake of the couples' new ventures. Harry still has vague hopes that he will be forgiven and will be offered a minor role somewhere. Even Edward VIII, after the abdication, was given a few minor roles. And Harry will be aware of that," Quinn said.

When the Palace announced that King Charles was diagnosed with cancer, several reports claimed that Prince Harry offered to temporarily return to his royal duties. However, his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, were reportedly not open to the idea.

Quinn also claimed that another reason Prince Harry would want to reconnect with the royals was the possibility of him getting lost once the "fire goes out" in his relationship with Markle. However, the author said it wouldn't be easy for Prince Harry to just return to the life he left for Markle.

"As Meghan and Harry become an older married couple and some of the fire goes out of their relationship, there's a real danger that Harry will feel lost -- just as Edward VIII felt lost when things had cooled with Mrs Simpson," Quinn added."That's the point at which Harry will really make huge efforts to build bridges with his brother and be allowed to be the part-time Royal (with Meghan) that he wants to be. But if palace officials have their way, it will never happen."
