Actress Ashley Tisdale was spotted out this week wearing her new engagement ring given by her fiance, musician Christopher French, when he proposed on Aug. 8.

The former High School Musical star, 28, debuted her diamond ring on Tuesday, Aug. 13, while walking through Los Angeles with French, 28. The  Annie Automatic frontman proposed on the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building in New York City after dating the actress since 2012.

"Best night of my life. We're on top of the world,"  Tisdale tweeted after the proposal, followed by the Monday post, "Thank you guys for all your well wishes. Means so much to me. We're so grateful and excited. #imthehappiestgirlintheworld."

Tisdale's first red carpet appearance with her ring since announcing her engagement was on Wednesday when the pair attended the 2013 InStyle Summer Soiree held at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood.

The Scary Movie 5 star and French first took their relationship public in December during a visit to an L.A. Apple store. A source at the time told Us Weekly "she likes those rocker types" and "they have mutual friends and just met through hanging out."

Tisdale spoke to Maxim magazine earlier in the year about her preference in men.

"I just like guys who have an edge to them. But it could go either way. Like, I have been into the surfer blonde frat guys, and then there's definitely a thing where I like the dark, mysterious bad boy," she said. "I'm not into the 'game' so much. If I like you, I'll confront you and be open about it. Then I expect you to come after me."

It will be the first marriage for both Tisdale and French.
