Joss Whedon is quickly becoming the real-life superhero for all things Marvel.

In an interview with SFX Magazine, Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor revealed that Whedon helped save the film a few times.

"Joss came in to save our lives a couple of times," Taylor said. "We had a major scene that was not working on the page at all in London, and he basically got airlifted in, like a SWAT team or something."

Whedon helped re-work several key scenes while the sequel was being filmed.

The television vet rewrote the initial problem scene and even stuck around at Taylor's request to help fix two other scenes that were posing a problem, according to newsarama.com.

"Then finally we let go of him, and he took off again, and we shot the scenes; and they were just much better and much lighter on their feet," Taylor said. "Much more fun, much more surprising than what we had been trying to do. I can relate to guys who come out of the TV world, since that's where I come from. And being able to land and work and solve a problem quickly...I really was grateful."

Both Whedon and Taylor came from television backgrounds. Whedon's best-known credits include Roseanne, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the highly anticipated new ABC show Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Taylor's work includes directing episodes of popular shows including Homicide: Life on the Streets, Sex and the City, The Sopranos, and Game of Thrones.

This is not the first time Whedon has been brought in to help fix a Marvel film. He reportedly contributed dialogue to X-Men in 2000, fixed the ending of Civil War in 2006, directing the post-credits scene in the first Thor film, and working on the character for The Avengers.

Thor: The Dark World will be in Theaters Nov. 8.
