The casting process for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation continues to progress as Zero Dark Thirty's Jennifer Ehle is reportedly close to being attached to don the role of Anastasia Steele's (Dakota Johnson) mother, Carla May Wilkes.

Deadline stated that the 43-year-old is currently in negotiations with Focus Features and Universal Pictures for the respective part.

In the Fifty Shades novel, Steele's mother is described as being married four times, overspending and having a weak relationship with Ana.

Ehle is known for her work on the BBC's adaptation of Jane Austin's novel, Pride And Prejudice, in which she starred alongside Colin Firth. She also worked with Firth in the award-winning The King's Speech.

In other Fifty Shades movie happenings, several fans have seemed to have had a change of heart over future Christian Grey, Charlie Hunnam. After initially disapproving of the English actor's casting, several female loyalists have reportedly started sending him pieces of sexy lingerie, according to Entertainmentwise.

"We've seen frilly knickers, bras and even stockings left at his door by some fans of the book as they try to get his attention. It has been very odd. I've never seen anything quite like it," stated one of his neighbors.

Fifty Shades screenwriter Kelly Marcel stated that she'd be staying true to the original content of author James' books with lots of sex and raunchiness. The highly anticipated movie is scheduled to launch in theaters on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2014.
