The New Orleans Saints (6-1) and their tough defense plan on making life difficult for Geno Smith and The New York Jets (4-4) on Sunday, Nov. 3.

Recently, New Orleans has been known for their superb offense and lackluster defense. Despite winning the 2009 Super Bowl, the team finished a mediocre 25th in total defense that year.

Weakness is no longer the case with new defensive coordinator, Rob Ryan, in charge. Since Ryan took over, the Saints now rank among the league leaders in points allowed per game (17.1) and lead the NFC with 3.4 sacks per game.

"When you have the league's worst defense a year ago and you have the same players, people think that those players that were playing in that scheme were terrible," Curtis Lofton told ESPN.

Lofton, who is a linebacker, currently leads the team with 55 total tackles. The 27-year-old thinks that Ryan changed the Saints whole dynamic.

"So you get a new defensive coordinator that comes in and plays to the strengths of players in this locker room, and guys are playing out there confident, playing fast ... like it's a whole different team."

The story for this game couldn't have been scripted any better. Jets head coach, Rex Ryan, is Bob Ryan's twin brother. After a horrific loss to the Cincinnati Bengals (6-3) last week, Ryan doesn't want to dwell on last weeks crushing defeat.

"I thought it would be more beneficial just to move on to New Orleans, get a start on them, and that's exactly what we did," Ryan said.

Jets quarterback, Geno Smith, will have to be at his best Sunday, but it won't be easy for the rookie. Smith has already been sacked 28 times this year. This will certainly be the rookies' biggest test thus far.
