It has been two months since Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus ended their engagement, and the Hunger Games: Catching Fire star said he is doing just fine.

The Australian actor, who confirmed earlier in November that he is single, had only been asked about his breakup with Cyrus once. In his response he wished the 20-year-old singer well, but recently went into more detail about his life after the split.

"These days I feel like I'm more centered and grounded than I've ever been," the 23-year-old told The Associated Press, in an interview published Thursday. "I'm more comfortable in my own skin than I've ever been in my whole life,"

The actor, who met Cyrus in 2010 on the set of their film The Last Song, said he has gone through a lot since moving to Hollywood from Australia at the age of 18.

"Over the last five years I've learned so much," Hemsworth said. "The first few years in L.A. were really tough and scary, but I had to figure things out for myself."

He has also learned how to handle media attention and scrutiny during his relationship with Cyrus, and after their relationship ended in September following cheating rumors. Hemsworth had a fling with Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez and she reportedly played a part in the Hollywood couple's split.

"What I always keep in mind is that I know what the truth is and that's all that matters," he said in his defense. "I know I'm a good person."

Hemsworth credited surfing and kickboxing with helping him to escape from the pressure. He also mentioned that his Catching Fire costar Jennifer Lawrence has helped him find balance in life.

"For a few years I went down a path where I forgot to be in the moment and enjoy the moment," he said. "But being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now. I'm much happier."
