Ever since she divorced Tom Cruise and moved to New York City, Katie Holmes has been spotted every few days as she explores the city with daughter Suri.

Holmes took a rare solo trip around New York last week, leaving Suri behind for some alone time and shopping. But the amount of time Holmes is spotted without her daughter pales in comparison to Cruise, who hasn't been seen with Suri in 65 days.

The father-daughter duo hasn't been together since Cruise took 6-year-old Suri on a trip to Disney World on Aug. 2. Since then, Cruise has been dashing around the world making movies, working in locales from Iceland to Louisiana.

A source close to the family told Radar Online that even though it's been a while since Suri has seen her father, she is accustomed to the way his work schedule can make him unavailable.

"Suri is used to her dad being away filming and not spending every single day with him. She loves the daddy-daughter time they get together," the source said. "She always spent time with him either on set or at home and even on vacation, so she's really adjusted well."

Some rumors claimed Cruise's controversial religion, Scientology, had something to do with the separation from Suri, but Cruise's friend Bert Fields called those stories "hogwash."

"This has absolutely nothing to do with Scientology," Fields said. "This is something that's been going on her whole life - when Tom is shooting a film out of the country, he has to rely on the telephone."

Cruise is required to pay $400,000 per year in child support for Suri, which is one of the divorce provisions revealed in new court documents recently uncovered by The National Enquirer. The papers also show that the marriage had been crumbling for a while, saying that the relationship had "broken down irretrievably" six months before Holmes filed for divorce.
