While Rihanna is said to have given Chris Brown her blessing to speak on his assault against her in his new documentary, word is she’s afraid of what he will do following the fallout of the film’s highly anticipated release.

From contemplating suicide to feeling like a “monster”, Brown gets extremely candid about his February 2009 attack against Rihanna in his documentary Welcome To My Life: The Real Chris Brown Story. And Rihanna is reportedly nervous about what he might fall back into if the criticism is too much for him.

“It hasn’t always been easy for him to express his feelings publicly and she couldn’t be prouder for him with his documentary. But at the same time, Rihanna doesn’t want to rehash that dreadful day,” an insider told Hollywood Life earlier this week.

That day definitely changed Rihanna and Brown’s life forever. The couple was on their way to the 2009 Grammy Awards when Rihanna reportedly confronted him about a text message he received from an ex. Things escalated and Brown got physical, brutally beating Rihanna and putting her in the hospital. A shocking photo of the singer made its rounds online, showing just how bad the incident was. While the two have reunited and sparked their romance multiple times since then, it’s safe to say they both changed after the incident.

“It’s not something she thinks about she doesn’t want Chris to either. She’s forgiven him and that’s all that matters. They’ve spoken. Rihanna knew what was up with his documentary and like she’s done for most of her life, she supports it. Chris is working on himself and trying to be the best man and father he can.”

Still, Rihanna is said to have reassured Brown that “he doesn’t have to continue to seek the media’s approval. She’s already forgiven him and to her, the two of them will always be cool.”
