If rumors and leaks are to be believed, there is a very big chance that the iPhone 7 might be a bit of a disappointment, from an aesthetic standpoint, at least. Allegedly featuring practically the same frame as the last two flagships that preceded it, the iPhone 7 seems to be a bit stale in the looks department.

If these new rumors are true, however, Apple might be cooking up something new to encourage consumers to take the leap to the iPhone 7. According to the new rumor, Apple could be introducing a Deep Blue color option for its next flagship device, reminiscent of how Apple introduced the Rose Gold option with the introduction of the iPhone 6S.

What's more, the new rumors state that Apple is also looking into dropping the iPhone's popular Space Gray color option. Thus, if these rumors do prove true, Apple's decision to include a Deep Blue option might backfire, since it would come at the cost of one of the most popular color choices currently available in the firm's devices.

Indeed, with Space Gray iPhones the only ones featuring a black front panel, the removal of the color option might end up disappointing a lot of fans. Nevertheless, given the popularity of Space Gray, and the fact that the color is usually the first ones to go out of stock in Apple Stores, there is a pretty good chance that Apple would simply add another color this year, without removing one of its traditional color options.

Of course, what remains to be seen is if Apple would pair the Deep Blue color option with a black or white panel. Given the popularity of Space Gray, however, there is also a very good chance that Apple would pair the new color with a black faceplate. Doing so would actually give consumers more choices, since, for the past years, those who like black-paneled phones are stuck with only Space Gray as their option.

With the iPhone 7 possibly being underwhelming in design, the addition of a new color might actually serve Apple quite well.
