The Cupertino-based tech giant is out to make the iPhone's 10th anniversary a blast. With the 8th handset variant coming up, Apple is set to institute its major upgrades.

Among the components being given emphasis is the display screen. It has been perceived that the upcoming iPhone models will have curved OLED surfaces.

If there is one thing that is worth noting about the display process, it will most probably be about augmented reality (AR). It cannot be denied that the enhancement of realistic backgrounds is among the current technology's focal points.

According to columnist Yoni Heisler, Apple's AR approach is multi-dimensional. Advanced procedures are being integrated into the iPhone camera wherein the device is able to identify what it tracks down.

With this in mind, the Tim Cook-led organization is bringing in one of the world's optical experts. The German group Carl Zeiss AG will be extending its ingenuity on AR technology.

The collaboration has already been unveiled during the recently-held Consumer Electronics Show (CES). With a prototype currently being explored, it will just be a matter of time before an AR-fully supported item is released.

Although this will not be the first time that a tech group is venturing on the augmented realm, it will probably be a primary undertaking that AR technology is extensively tackled. It should be remembered that Microsoft has initially launched its HoloLens product in which the notable trouble is its shortened view range.

The International Business Times (IBT) has reported that the Redmond-based company is already working forward with other computer manufacturers in the hope of incorporating the HoloLens into their headsets. This means that HP, ASUS and Lenovo will soon launch their respective AR products.

The partnership between Apple and Carl Zeiss has stemmed up from a leak which suggested that the former is studying the probability of linking a smart glass to the iPhone. Within this context, the user will gain accessibility to images and related data.
