The 2017 Oscar nominations were announced Tuesday morning, and it's a very good day to be La La Land.

La La Land has the most Oscar nominations this year, racking up 14 in total. This ties it with All About Eve and Titanic as the most nominated films in Oscar history. This includes stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in the lead acting categories and a nomination in every single technical category for which it was eligible.

The nominees for Best Picture are:

Arrival
Fences
Hacksaw Ridge
Hell or High Water
Hidden Figures
La La Land
Lion
Manchester by the Sea
Moonlight

Many of the stars in these films are also nominated for the acting categories, including Fences' Denzel Washington and Viola Davis, Hacksaw Ridge's Andrew Garfield, Hell or High Water's Jeff Bridges, Hidden Figures' Octavia Spencer, La La Land's aforementioned Gosling and Stone, Lion's Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman, Manchester by the Sea's Casey Affleck, Lucas Hedges and Michelle Williams and Moonlight's Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris.

Arrival's Amy Adams is the surprise acting snub, considering she was nominated at all the requisite precursors, including Golden Globes, SAG, Critics' Choice and BAFTA.

Other notables:

-Kubo and the Two Strings in Visual Effects - the first animated film to be nominated in that category since 1993's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

-Diversity in every category - Every acting category has at least one actor of color nominated, a stark difference from the past few years.

-Mel Gibson is nominated in Directing for Hacksaw Ridge despite not receiving a DGA nomination

-No nominations for Deadpool - While Deadpool had an amazing run in the awards up to this point, the film received a whopping ZERO nominations from the Academy.

-Loving's Ruth Negga and Nocturnal Animals' Michael Shannon surprise - Negga and Shannon received nominations despite receiving few precursors.
