The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which was reportedly codenamed as 'Baikal' by the South Korean tech company is expected to arrive this year. Also, this forthcoming member of the Note family is predicted to be equipped with 4K display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835, 6GB of RAM and top of the line specs and features.

According to Android Headlines, a tech enthusiast has posted on Twitter that Samsung Electronics has codenamed the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 "Baikal." This speculation had surfaced last Monday along with images that depicts Baikal which was a rift lake that is located in Southern Siberia.

Baikal was also supposed to be the deepest lake in the whole world and one of the oldest. Unluckily, the source was not able to provide further details about the matter but then, it can be remembered that Samsung already confirmed that the company will be unveiling the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 later this year after it had discontinued its predecessor Samsung Galaxy Note 7 last fall.

When it comes with the specs, PC Advisor has learned that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might arrive boasting a Quad-HD or 4K SuperAMOLED display. But then, rumors are high that the smartphone will be equipped with the latter making it the first 4K smartphone. It was also believed that the forthcoming handset from the South Korean tech will boast the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. But then, other reports suggest that it might be engineered with next-gen Exynos processor that will be paired with ARM Mali-G71 GPU.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is also possible to be armed with an enormous 6GB of RAM along with 64 GB of internal storage. This smartphone may also have Samsung's artificial intelligence assistant named Bixby. Other features might include dual camera set-up, waterproof ability, 3,500 mAh capacity battery with fast wireless charging, and USB Type-C support.

Nevertheless, the above-mentioned specs and features are just based on speculations so it is still advised to be taken with skepticism. But then, Samsung has confirmed that it will be releasing Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and concrete details about the flagship device are expected to be divulged soon.
