The world famous 29-year old singer Robyn Rihanna Fenty, or better known as just Rihanna, has slowly been expanding her repertoire to include a growing career in acting. The "Diamonds" singer has of course been in a few movies and television shows, including her recent appearance as Marion Crane in A&E's "Bates Motel."

The Grammy-award winning singer is also set to appear in two upcoming movies, namely the English-language French science fiction film, "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets," and the upcoming all-female "Ocean's Eight" movie. To Rihanna's credit, most of the people she had worked with had high praises for the singer.

The "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" director, Luc Besson, even recently talked about his experience with Rihanna. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the "Lucy" and "The Fifth Element" director explained that Rihanna was very humble and open to his criticism. Besson apparently enjoyed his time with her explaining that the singer was very much willing to learn in order for her to become a good actress.

Aside from his praises, Besson also revealed that Rihanna won't just have a short cameo role in "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets." The actress will apparently be in a good number of scenes that will be more than 20 minutes. The statement came as a surprise for most fans as Rihanna actually appeared for only a second during the recently released trailer for the movie, as per a report from Pitch Fork.

"Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" will be starring both Dane DeHaan as Valerian and Cara Delevingne as Laureline. The movie is scheduled to be released on July 21. Rihanna will, fortunately, have a much bigger role in "Ocean's Eight," where she will appear alongside Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, and Helena Bonham. The all-female movie is set to be released in 2018.
