Playing a Los Angeles youngster obsessed with celebrity culture, Emma Watson looked far from innocent in newly released stills from her upcoming film The Bling Ring.

Shots from the Sofia Coppola film , which is out in U.S. theaters on June 14, show Watson's character Nikki showing off her legs as she reclines on a sofa in a fur coat. A second shot shows her toying around with a gun. See photos here.

Additional stills show Watson flashing a black and red lace bra to the camera.

Nicki is one of the real-life group of teenagers who allegedly robbed the homes of celebrities - including Paris Hilton , Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox - in 2008-2009. Watson spoke to GQ magazine about why she felt like she had to take on the role.

"When I read the script and realized that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it's become to our society, I had to do it," she said. "The character is everything that I felt strongly against - she's superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral."

"How do you play someone you hate" she added. "But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job or my role as an actress could be."

Watson attended the Los Angeles premiere of The Bling Ring on June 4 wearing a black and white Chanel dress that she paired with matching, peep-toe heels and red lipstick. Coppola wrote and directed the film, inspired by actual events.

Watson took on the role coming off the success of 2012's The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She also stars in this year's This is the End, along with James Franco, Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen. The film is out in theaters on Wednesday.
