Former WNBA player Chamique Holdsclaw pleaded guilty to assault on Friday after she allegedly smashed in the windows of her ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Lacy's car in November. 

At the time, Lacy, 30, said Holdsclaw, 35, fired a gunshot at her Range Rover SUV after breaking the windows.

Holdsclaw pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage in the first degree, two counts of criminal damage in the second degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, USA Today reported.

The Olympic Gold medalist was sentenced to three years' probation, ordered a $3,000 fine and must serve 120 hours of community service. She must also avoid violent confrontation with Lacy and undergo anger management.

Holdsclaw's attorney Ed Garland she "felt that to honestly accept what her actions were was best for everyone concerned."

Back on Nov. 13, it was reported that Lacy drove down a street in Atlanta when she noticed that someone believed to be Holdsclaw was following her. Lacy immediately pulled the car over, but before she could exit he car, Holdsclaw allegedly started striking Lacy's car with a baseball bat- breaking several windows.  A shot was then fired into the vehicle but Lacy was not injured. Holdsclaw turned herself in to authorities later that day.

Hours after the attack, Holdsclaw took to her Twitter account to apologize. 

"Everything is a lesson learned. We all make decisions good and bad. As long as we grow from them that's all that matters. #lessonlearned" she tweeted on Nov.14.

Lacy and Holdslaw dated while they were teammates for the Atlanta Dream in 2009.

Holdsclaw retired from the WBNA in 2010. She helped Tennessee win three consecutive national championships and was the top overall pick in the 1999 draft

After Holdsclaw retirement, she exposed her struggles with depression in her 2012 biography, Breaking Through: Beating the Odds Shot After Shot. She revealed that she once attempted suicide while playing for the Los Angeles Sparks in 2006.
