Meghan Markle recently attended her first royal Christmas party that was organized by Prince Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Markle just returned to London after a short trip to Los Angeles last week.

Prince Harry was also in attendance at the annual celebration. Queen Elizabeth II's cousins and son, Prince Andrew, were also present at the event.

The annual royal staff Christmas party was held at the Waterloo Chamber, St. George's Hall and the Grand Reception Room.

"The Christmas party is always held there. They'll hold the wedding reception there, too. It is a well-proven system and arrangement," said a former staff.

Meghan Markle's Surprise Attendance

Meanwhile, one of the party guests, Rebecca English, said that they didn't have any idea that Markle will be going to the party. After all, the Suits alum was just in Los Angeles with her mom, Doria Ragland, last week.

English said that everyone that had the chance to meet Markle was surprised at how beautiful, confident, and elegant she looked. She introduced herself with a smile on her face, and Prince Harry was very proud of his fiancée.

Meghan Markle Celebrates Christmas With Royal Family

Markle's attendance at the annual royal staff Christmas party came just one day after it was also announced that she will also be spending the holidays with Prince Harry and his entire family.

The former Deal or No Deal star will be the first unmarried partner to be on the royal family's guest list. Prince William's wife, Kate Middleton, was only invited to the family's Christmas parties after she married the Duke of Cambridge in 2011.

"These things happen, times move on. Harry certainly gets a lot more leeway than most have done," said the former royal staff.

On Christmas Day, Prince Harry, Markle, Prince William, and Middleton will be at Queen Elizabeth II's hometown, Sandringham.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's Week-Long Vacation

Following their holiday celebrations, Markle and Prince Harry are expected to go on a week-long vacation. There are rumors suggesting that the two will head to Australia for their much needed break.

"They plan to go on vacation together for more than a week. Expect them to come back tanned, refreshed and ready to take on a very busy 2018," said a source.

After they return to London, Markle and Prince Harry will start preparing for their May 2018 nuptials, which will be held at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
