When a journalist lands an interview with a massive celebrity or public figure, they must select appropriate questions. Otherwise, their subject could promptly end the conversation.

Jamie Foxx Exits

On Feb. 16, ESPN had the opportunity to interview Oscar-winning actor-singer Jamie Foxx. According to TMZ Sports, Foxx was in Los Angeles to participate in the National Basketball Association's All-Star Celebrity Game. This game was significant because it was part of the sports league's signature All-Star Weekend.

SportsCenter anchor Michael Smith had a conversation with the In Living Color and The Jamie Foxx Show alum regarding basketball. However, the interview took an awkward turn when Smith asked a surprising personal question to the entertainer.

"I know that you are prepared [for the game] because I saw pictures of you together with Katie Holmes. Did you play basketball with Katie Holmes on Valentine's Day? Like some real Love and Basketball?" asked Smith.

Not only did Foxx refuse to answer Smith's question, but he also abruptly took off his headset and left the interview. Foxx's hasty departure forced Smith to ad lib to SportsCenter's loyal audience until the field producer stared into the camera, while Foxx continued to warm up for the game.

Foxx And Holmes In Public

The picture that Smith was talking about featured the "DJ Play a Love Song" actor-singer side-by-side with his alleged romantic partner, former Dawson's Creek actress Katie Holmes. People Magazine found a photo of the alleged couple strolling down the street as they were playing basketball. They also spoke to an insider who confirmed that Foxx and Holmes were an item.

"Jamie and Katie's relationship is not a secret, but they both like to keep it under the radar. They have nothing to hide but Jamie, especially, is very low key about his life in general, and rarely talks about it. He is not one to acknowledge anything about his private life and neither does Katie," a representative told People.

Foxx and Holmes's Public Activities

Both Foxx and Holmes have recently made public appearances, but not together. Foxx helped daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres celebrate her 60th birthday along with Sofia Vergara, Jimmy Kimmel, and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Meanwhile, Holmes made an appearance at the recent Grammy Awards. She was also spotted with daughter Suri Cruise at Z100's Jingle Ball Concert in New York City's Madison Square Garden on Dec. 8, 201. People Magazine reported that the alleged couple was first spotted together dancing at the Hamptons in 2013.
