Impending fatherhood has Dwayne Johnson seeking out the best and brightest in the medial field. First up, he wants Jimmy Kimmel on doula duties.

Taking One For The Team

Of course, that is if The Rock can't be there for the big day. His second daughter, with girlfriend Lauren Hashian, is due April 25.

Johnson is currently on promotional duties for the upcoming action movie based on the video game Rampage, which means he may be out of the country when the little girl arrives.

In fact, he revealed on Tuesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he's traveling to Shanghai and then on to London for promo work later this week.

"You can't go to Shanghai!" Kimmel exclaimed.

"We're taking a chance here. We're taking a shot," Johnson replied.

There's still plenty of time, but if Hashian does go into labor early, Johnson needs someone to fill in for him.

"I'm going to need a very good friend of mine. I'm going to need a doula that's going to help me deliver and, well, it's gotta be you," he told Kimmel.

Far from shirking his responsibilities, the late-night host was elated at the suggestion.

"I'd love to be the doula. I'd be more than happy to fill in for you," Kimmel, a father of four himself, replied happily.

He even offered to cosplay as The Rock especially for the birth, if doing so was required. The one thing Kimmel won't do, however, is cut the umbilical cord, which he likens to a mayor cutting a ribbon. The late-night host revealed that he didn't even do it for his own children.

April Fools Prank

Earlier in the show, Johnson tricked Kimmel into believing the baby had already arrived on Sunday. He told him how he'd thought Hashian was going into labor and had rushed to get everything together and into the car, only for her to call April Fools.

The Rock then revealed that he, too, was playing an April Fools' prank on Kimmel.

The new baby will be Johnson's third child, following two-year-old daughter Jasmine Lia, which he shares with Lashian, and 16-year-old Simone Alexandra, from a previous relationship.

Three's A Crowd

Little Jasmine is reportedly happy to be getting a little sister, but at a certain point decides she's no longer interested.

Johnson has been putting off having a full conversation with her but is hoping she'll change her mind once the baby arrives.

Johnson recently joked on The Ellen Degeneres Show about bringing Oscar-winning actress Frances McDormand into his relationship with longtime partner Hashian. McDormand gave a shout out to Simone when she was serving as a Golden Globes ambassador.

Rampage hits theaters on April 13.
