Wedding bells are finally ringing for Toni Braxton and Birdman. The singer opened up about the details of her big day.

Braxton announced her engagement to rapper and record label executive Birdman in a teaser for season 6 of WeTV’s Braxton Family Values earlier this year. It looks like she has already gotten quite the start on planning for the ceremony. She revealed that she will have a Great Gatsby theme and said she’s ready to have fun with confirming the details.

“This is my second wedding, and I’m over 40,” said Braxton. “It’s like Carrie Bradshaw, the last bride. It’ll be elegant and a little sexy.”

Braxton and Birdman finally went public about their relationship after months of saying they were only friends. Still, rumors of a secret relationship and even a secret marriage made headlines. Braxton pointed out that she and Birdman have been close to each other for more than 15 years. She said he was a great support to her in the last few years when he came to her concerts and stood by her as she battled with lupus.

While Birdman seems to have a rough exterior, it might be safe to say Braxton is helping him let down his guard. She described him as a “gentleman” in a previous interview and said he has no problem opening the door for her. Interestingly enough, she also said Birdman is “very traditional.”

Birdman also seemed to verify engagement rumors when he gushed about his future wife weeks before their wedding plans were actually confirmed.

“That’s my love, my soldier, my life – she’s my everything,” said Birdman during an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show in February. “She’s my life. I love her to death.”

In true Williams fashion, she pointed out the notion that fans think Birdman and Braxton are an odd couple. Birdman said that while he’s a “gangster,” he still needs love.

Meanwhile, as Braxton is set to plan her wedding this season on the popular reality show, her youngest sister and fellow singer Tamar Braxton is going through a divorce. Tamar filed for divorce back in October.

While she stated irreconcilable differences, fans saw Tamar and her estranged husband’s fallout on the WeTV spinoff Tamar & Vince. Now, for the current season of Braxton Family Values, viewers see even more of their drama. This time, the entire family has gotten involved as her sister, Towanda Braxton, files a lawsuit against Herbert after a business deal gone wrong.
