It has been a big year for embattled "Princess of Pop"  Britney Spears. From her emancipation of her father's overreaching conservatorship since 2007, the #FreeBritany movement, to getting engaged to actor Sam Asghari, dealing with mental health issues on a world stage garnering massive fan support, and news from her camp keeps rolling in.

According to a Variety, a source close to Spears has confirmed the performer has inked a very lucrative book deal for a memoir of her storied life from her early days in music, skyrocketing to global stardom, and her familial relationships over the years. Publisher Simon & Schuster, who will be putting out the book, have apparently won the bidding war for as much as a whopping $15 million. This news of the amount was reported by Page Six, though the source close to Spears only confirmed the amount to be "record breaking."

Britney was quoted telling the judge in her case against her father Jamie Spears, who forced her to keep touring even as the singer begged for time off to deal with her emotional problems,

"I've been in shock. I am traumatized. I just want my life back."

News of the book comes with the continuing issues of conservatorships, hopefully helping to shed a light on the abuse, mental rigors, and unfair treatment many young performers have had to go through over the years. All too often, these children are victims of their guardians' greed and mismanagement.

These impressionable youths face adult challenges throughout their careers and the shiny veneer of their on-screen/on-stage personas often mask the real pain they may be experiencing behind the scenes. We're sure Britney's new book will be an eye-opening call to action which will change the way child star's are treated, or at least we can hope so.
