Amanda Bynes reportedly filed court papers this week to end her years-long conservatorship.

But are her parents going to pull a Britney Spears on her as well?

She is just the second high-profile celebrity to be placed in a conservatorship after being placed under a 5150 psychiatric hold in August 2013 after starting a fire in someone's driveway in California.

At that moment, a court placed her under temporary conservatorship, which has been extended several times over the years.

Following her notorious Twitter outbursts, substance addiction concerns, and legal woes, the former child star was also placed under conservatorship.

Her parents, Rick and Lynn Bynes, have been in charge of the conservatorship since then.

However, given her parents support her and how far she has gone, the 35-year-old will not have to sue her family or face as many setbacks.

It also appears that if she obtains what she wants, the procedure of removing the conservatorship will be simple.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Rick and Lynn want their daughter to be happy and healthy.

They told Hollywood Life, "They are very proud of how far she's come and fully support her choice to remove the conservatorship."

According to the insider, Amanda Bynes did not intend to end her conservatorship at first, but she wanted to make some modifications that would enable her the type of independence she desired.

The former Nickelodeon star also says she is no longer in need of a conservatorship since she believes she is now better and does not believe she would need to be placed in one.

In accordance with California state law, the actress also submitted a capacity statement, which included details of her mental status from a doctor, a psychologist, or even a religious healer.

The conservatorship hearing is scheduled for March 22, and Amanda's lawyer, David A. Esquibias, told People magazine that her client believes she has "changed" and that "court protection is no longer essential."

Her team, which includes her parents, doctor, lawyer, and other professionals, is said to be adamant that she may now live her life as a free woman, free of court protection.

The news that Amanda Bynes has filed to dissolve her conservatorship has prompted some fans to link her case to that of Britney Spears, whose father Jamie was in charge of her estate.

It's unclear whether the two stars have communicated due to their similar situations, but happily, Amanda's conservatorship is not as stringent as Britney's.
