A source told HL that 'SNL's show runner is scared that Pete Davidson may leave the program.

Pete Davison's 28, relationship with Kim Kardashian, 41, has helped him become a household figure in the entertainment industry. Lorne Michaels, SNL's veteran show runner, is concerned that Pete would quit the ensemble to explore other possibilities as he rises in prominence.

According sources who spoke with Hollywood Life, the showrunner would really love to have Pete Davidson for years to come, and especially for the show's 50th anniversary in 2025, but he also thinks this can be impossible.

"He fears mostly that he will lose him but he is going to do all that he can think of to keep him around. Convincing Pete to stay though might be tougher than expected though," souces added.

As the show's youngest cast member, Pete was barely 20-years-old when he joined in 2014. To show off his comic skills in the second year, the Staten Island native created the recurrent character Chad and performed a series of digital short music skits. Since Kim hosted Saturday Night Live in October and had an on-screen kiss with Aladdin as Princess Jasmine in a hilarious Disney parody, he and Kim have been inseparable.

Lorne would be delighted to have Pete remain on the show indefinitely if he so desired, the insider told Hollywood Life.

While Lorne would love for Peter to follow in the footsteps of Keenan [Thompson] and be able to do both the show and other things that interest him, he realizes that Pete's meteoric rise, including his relationship with Kim Kardashian, his Super Bowl commercials, and numerous other film and television offers, means that he believes he is on borrowed time when it comes to Pete remaining on SNL after this season, the insiders confessed.

Despite all of Pete's achievements so far in the entertainment industry,, Pete's romance with Kim has been a major media focus, including a recent meal with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, during which the two allegedly discussed travelling to space.

While Kim's followers have encouraged her to move on after her traumatic divorce from Kanye West, 44, this escalated things so much that Pete ended up even more famous than before. But not in a good way.

Notably, Pete has become the target of the rapper's on-going social media assaults as a result of his position on the comedian. While performing the song "Eazy," Kanye West killed an animated version of Pete.

According to reports, the SNL cast member found the explicit video "hilarious," even as fans urge him to sue.
