Nicholas Cage has been called back to the land of comedy due to the cry of the new film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

Nicholas Cage has been in what seems like every movie under the sun. He has been in movies across the spectrum, from the great to the...well, less great. He has dabbled in every genre. In recent times, however, the actor found himself returning time and time again to more dramatic roles, seemingly leaving comedy behind. That was until, of course, he was cast in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is a comedy in which Nicholas Cage plays himself, and is assigned to assassinate his number one fan. It is a chaotic and incredibly meta premise that we are sure will leave us hilariously asking ourselves: What is happening, and why do I like it?

This film served a similar purpose for Cage. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cage shared that this hilarious comedy was his call back into the genre. The actor explained:

"Somewhere along the way, Hollywood seems to have forgotten that I could do comedy...I had done Raising Arizona, I had done Honeymoon in Vegas, Moonstruck - I mean, it goes on - but they forgot. With this, Tom invited me back into a comedy, and it was a very welcome experience for me because I wanted to do that. It's been so long."

The exceptional level of hilarity achieved in this movie is one of the aspects that Cage has found himself the most excited by. It speaks directly to his personal sense of humor.

"All the comedy in the movie resonated because I do like to be funny at home and make my wife laugh and my boys laugh...I get a bit off the wall in my particular brand of humor, and that reflects well on this movie. It's very apparent in the movie what my sense of humor is."

We cannot wait to see The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent when it hits theatres on April 15th.
