Cary Elwes made a witty remark as he shared an update after suffering from a rattlesnake bite.

On Monday, Elwes gave his Instagram followers a first look of his hand after one of his fingers got bitten by a rattlesnake. The finger and its fingernail look swollen and blue in color, hinting that the incident only happened recently.

Although the scary incident could have affected his health, he showed off his good spirits and captioned the post with a nod to "The Princess Bride."

"Bit not by a ROUS but a rattlesnake. Grateful to the staff of Malibu Urgent Care, LA County Fire Dept. and the staff and medical professionals at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for their great care," he added. "Am recovering well thanks to all these wonderful folks," he wrote.

His colleagues and fans immediately sent him well wishes, saying they included him in their prayers.

Cary Elwes Also Suffered Injury on "The Princess Bride" Set

It was not the first time he ever faced a worrying incident, though.

In his book "As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride," the actor revealed that he got injured on the set of the film. He famously played Westley's role in the hit flick.

Elwes reportedly got hit with a sword in the head by Christopher Guest. Although it was part of the script, the blow reportedly became harder than they anticipated.

"I woke up in the emergency room, still in costume, to the frightening sound of stitches being sewn into my skull ... and of course Chris felt absolutely terrible about the whole thing, even though I kept telling him it wasn't his fault. It was my dumb idea," he recalled.

That particular scene reportedly made it to the film. So he reminded everyone that when they saw Westley fall and pass out, it was not acting at all. Instead, he reportedly lost consciousness because of the blow.

Fans who want to see more of him would be given a chance by watching Zack Snyder's "Rebel Moon." The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Elwes signed on for the upcoming sci-fi movie.
