Kim Kardashian shocked the world at this year's Met Gala as she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum wearing one of the most important dresses in history. However, the beauty mogul may have damaged the icon's dress, as seen in a new photo circulating online.

The Marilyn Monroe Collection shared side-by-side photos of the dress in an Instagram post showing the skin tone bedazzled dress the Hollywood legend wore when she sang then-President John F. Kennedy a happy birthday song.

The two photos show a comparison in which a few crystals appear missing after the dress was worn to the fashion event.

"Just in case you missed it... Missing crystals, and some left hanging by a thread," they wrote.

Following this, many fans called out the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star, saying she shouldn't have let this happen, and the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum shouldn't have allowed the TV star to wear the dress in the first place.

"So sad that this has happened. I can't believe anyone was allowed to wear this very special historical piece," one commented.

"It should never have been allowed. I guess money does get anything you want," another penned.

As of this writing, Kardashian has not publicly commented on the matter.

The recent issue comes almost a month after renowned fashion designer Bob Mackie called out the TV star for wearing the dress, saying it was a "big mistake."

Speaking about the late Marilyn Monroe, Mackie said she was a "crazzy goddess" and "fabulous" when she was still alive.

"[The dress] was done for her. It was designed for her. Nobody else should be seen in that dress," he told Vanity Fair.

The designer was involved in the process of creating the original dress almost sixty years ago. Jean Louis constructed the outfit, but Mackie was the one who sketched the "naked dress."

During the Met Gala, Kardashian revealed on the red carpet that she forced herself to lose weight in a few weeks to wear the dress as it didn't fit her.

Since she didn't want the original dress to be altered, she decided to work out.

"I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn't starve myself, but I was so strict," she revealed.
