With Top Gun: Maverick still fresh in the minds of moviegoers worldwide, it's time to fuel up the jets and take to the skies for one more ride.

If you missed your chance to see the long-anticipated sequel to one of the coolest 80s movies ever made, then you're in luck. Imax has announced that the Tom Cruise passion project is getting another shot at the biggest screen out there. Starting this Friday Top Gun: Maverick is buzzing the tower one more time at select IMAX theaters.

And what better film to see in the ever-immersive format?

Literally made for IMAX, the film has nearly an hour of pulse-pounding footage that was shot specifically for the format. Realistic as you can get outside of hopping in an F-18, Top Gun: Maverick will have you feeling the need for speed all over again with its booming sound, intense, real, aerial acrobatics, and gut-swirling G's your body can take.

Director Joseph Kosinski has crafted one of the most intense experiences one could get from an IMAX movie. With the actors in actual flight situations, cameras in cockpits, ready to rock, you are in for a feast for the senses.

In case you don't believe me, just check out the flight training video Tom Cruise and the production dropped before the release to see the very real skills the actors had to go through in order to make this one of the most realistic fighter pilot films ever created.

Check your local IMAX theater listings to see if Top Gun: Maverick is playing near you.
